Securitas is organized in 4 operational divisions each with its own IT/IS organization. Securitas Europe has launched its transformation program which includes the implementation of new platforms and new services delivered from an European or global centralized team.
The 24 European countries are managed on IT/IS through 4 Cluster. To ensure the implementation of the Securitas Europe strategy in the alignment of working methods, processes and systems, in each Cluster we have domain delivery owner responsible of alignment, rationalization. The proximity of our IT services to the business in the countries is a key factor of success for Securitas.
In this context, we are recruiting a Securitas Operation Center (SOC) IT Engineer for the two SOC locations in the Netherlands.
About the role
The SOC is a mission-critical operation and of strategic importance for the Securitas business. As a member of the SOC Digital IT team, you will provide 24/7 IT support, perform updates and maintenance, implement new standardized services, answer business questions, provide user training and documentation, work on projects and global initiatives together with cross-domain support teams, and safeguard the availability and compliance of the SOC.
What you can expect from the role?
SOC Design and Implementation:
- Maintain and optimize SSE standard SOC design and standardize technology platforms.
- Monitor and maintain a stable SOC IT application and operating environment.
- Learn new infrastructure, operations, and security technologies, including Securitas-specific technologies and business processes.
- Use industry-standard tools and methodologies to triage and debug issues, determining root causes.
- Support the infrastructure team in implementing and maintaining infrastructure components, systems, and services.
- Conduct periodic walkthroughs of the SOC Operations- and Data Center, identifying and addressing potential issues.
SOC Application and Signal Path Support:
- Monitor operational metrics, collect data, and publish production systems health information.
- Act as a liaison with local vendors on technical matters.
- Provide end-user support for all SOC applications, including Mastermind Monitoring and Business, Immix, and Twilio.
- Monitor and service customer-facing signal path equipment, including receivers and PC equipment.
- Correct signal path interruptions and escalate issues beyond support scope.
- Monitor alarm signals and respond using SOC monitoring applications.
- Manage support tickets through the ServiceNow portal and communicate updates to stakeholders.
Key Deliverables and KPIs:
- Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues to minimize downtime.
- Regularly maintain, update, and support IT systems, including servers, networks, and workstations, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Maintain cleanliness in the data center and surrounding areas.
- Manage and resolve IT incidents and service requests, using ServiceNow to track and prioritize issues.
- Conduct training sessions for end-users to enhance their use of IT resources and tools.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of IT systems, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Keep the inventory of IT assets up-to-date, manage hardware and software licenses, and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
- Provide business and IT KPI reports to ensure SOC compliance (SRP, EN50518, ISO27001, SOC Security Baseline, etc.).
We're looking for open minded individual, motivated by constant development and willing to learn new areas withing IT area.
Years of experience: 1-2 in IT Business Area or in alarm and monitoring systems.
Key skills:
- Tech Savvy: Comfortable with operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.), databases, and networking basics.
- Documentation Pro: Able to write and update user guides & manuals.
- Security Aware: Understands basic cyber security protocols, measures & best practices.
- Service-Oriented: Familiar with IT service tools like ServiceNow & knowledge of incident and change management processes would be plus.
- Project Management: Experience in managing application deployment projects would be appreciated.
- Monitoring and Maintenance: Skilled in monitoring application performance and its maintenance.
Key soft skills:
- Great Communicator: Clear, patient, and empathetic when helping users & communicating with stakeholders.
- Team Player: Collaborates well and effectively within a team & cross-functional teams structures.
- Adaptable: Eager to learn and adjust to new technologies & changing environment.
- Problem Solver: Quick to troubleshoot and fix issues with an analytical approach.
Key Partnerships
- Collaboration with SOC users, management, and all SOC stakeholders on a daily basis.
- Working with GITS for infrastructure support, maintenance, and implementations according to SOC requirements.
Location
Role can be based in Amsterdam or Geldrop in the Netherlands. We work in a hybrid working model, requiring being in the office at least three days per week (2 days in Amsterdam and 1 in Geldrop, a company car will be available for business travel purposes).
Working conditions
We are looking for longer partnership offering you a contract of employment and full time job. Standard Business working hours + every 6-7 weeks participate in a 24/7 on-call support schedule is required.
