Operations Director - Belgium
The Role…
A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Operations Director to join our team based out of Belgium. You will lead day to day operations and directions of the business, overseeing project teams and service teams whilst developing and executing a focused effort to improve operational effectiveness and profitability.
You will partner with the Country Operational Leadership to develop and lead a performance transformation to improve operation excellence, systems and overall drive a continuous improvement culture.
Major Responsibilities
- Develop and implement cost improvement projects through operational efficiencies.
- Deliver improvements in the productivity and performance of the Installation and Service functions, forecasting and reporting performance against appropriate targets.
- Work closely with Country technician groups and Project Managers to understand opportunities for improved efficiency.
- Ensure that the necessary changes to processes and systems and management are made in order to ensure Engineers are scheduled effectively and in a way that minimises the cost to the organisation.
- Support the execution of improvement projects by promoting use of proven tools and approaches to achieve productivity in the field.
- Perform cost-benefit evaluation and ROI for all assigned projects to define potential financial, business, and industry impacts of initiatives.
- Develop and implement strategies for achieving operational targets.
- Work with the Leadership Team and Country GM to implement European wide Op-Ex initiatives.
- Co-ordinate productivity improvement projects to improve operational key performance measures and deliver OP commitment.
- Establish clear Operations Incentive Programs, aligned with European standards.
- Drive working capital performance.
- Continuously improve standards and best practice within the team and wider business, ensuring effective collaboration between departments and knowledge sharing
- Ensure appropriate resources are allocated to the teams, including scheduling and progress monitoring.
- Develop and introduce new proposals and technology to enhance business productivity.
- Develop training programs for company staff to enhance their job knowledge and skills.
- Ensure sufficient focus on sustainability of improvements through providing training and skill building of operational leaders.
- Ensure Belgian subcontractor management standards are set and maintained.
- Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices. Protect employees and visitors by promoting a safe working environment.
Must have
- 5+ years of operations management experience
- Working experience in an international Security environment or technology industry is preferable.
- Ideally, having worked in a multinational, experience in a matrixed environment
- Experience in strategic planning and execution
- Knowledge of change management
- Engineering background
- Experience working in a field origination.
- Highly process focused.
- Background in both install and service functions.
- Ability to manage through influencing.
- Good knowledge of implementing KPIs to drive behaviour and performance.
Skills & Knowledge Required
- Strong Industry knowledge and experience:
- Proven experience in a management position; preferably in a role responsible for the installation of electronic security systems, pre-sales technical support and commissioning and handover procedures
- Work experience with many different security management systems and the application of knowledge related to security technology.
- A broad knowledge of security products, and experience of working with suppliers and customers.
- Understand industry standards and competent in their application in accordance with Company guidelines.
- Ability to lead transformational change and a track record of developing best in class performance in a project management environment.
- Thorough business understanding and an ability to develop a clear vision for the team.
- High level commercial acumen with high level investigation, analysis and planning skills.
- Client liaison and customer focus
- Strong leadership, presence, confidence, and relationship skills
- High energy, good flexibility, and a practical approach to ensure a “hands on” but strategic impact on the business.
- Strong motivation to achieve, well organized and structured approach.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- English written and oral proficiency is a must.
