Presentation of North Star Common Core Program
North Star is the Europe Division’s Transformation Program at Securitas. The objective of this Program is to transform our organization and processes across all European countries through a new common platform enabler. Launched 4 years ago, the Program is now entering a new phase focused on the roll out in the different countries, with several already live.
To support the Program and countries already live, we are strengthening our team part of the IT European Organization and recruiting a Senior Project Manager. In this role, you will report to the Program Director.
Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to support the roll-out of Securitas’ Europe Division Transformation Program across multiple countries. This position requires strong leadership and solid experience in managing complex projects within a multi-cultural environment, working with both business and technical stakeholders.
You will apply the Program’s established project methodology to drive the implementation of the scope defined for each country, driving and ensuring successful delivery in collaboration with various workstreams and their leaders. As the role has no direct reporting lines, it requires a leader who is recognized as legitimate by the team, capable of influencing, building trust, and aligning diverse stakeholders toward common goals.
The Program developed a methodology approach to manage the different roll-out in the different countries. The project manager should apply the methodology and drive the implementation of the scope defined for each country. The project manager is the driver of the implementation supported by several workstream and leaders.
Without direct hierarchical authority over the teams, the Senior Project Manager acts as a catalyst and facilitator, owning the detailed planning and steering agile delivery, ensuring concrete results are delivered on time and aligned with European objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Detailed Planning & Scheduling
- Develop, maintain, and take ownership of a detailed project schedule in MS Project, including tasks, milestones, dependencies, and resource allocation.
- Identify potential risks and delays, recommend corrective actions, and ensure alignment with Program governance.
- Ensure the project plan accurately reflects both strategic milestones and operational realities.
- Agile Delivery Management
- Utilize Azure DevOps to manage the backlog, prioritize user stories, and monitor sprint progress.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies (including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives) with local teams.
- Ensure transparency and alignment between agile boards in Azure DevOps and the overall global project plan in MS Project.
- Operational Leadership
- Translate high-level objectives into concrete, actionable tasks with clear deadlines.
- Serve as the operational hub, ensuring workstreams smoothly progress and dependencies are effectively managed.
- Influence-Based Leadership
- Lead and mobilize teams without formal authority, leveraging credibility, clear communication, and relationship-building.
- Foster alignment and create momentum across diverse partners and stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with national institutions, local partners, and European counterparts.
- Navigate conflicting priorities diplomatically while maintaining focus on successful delivery.
- Delivery & Impact
- Convert strategy into tangible outputs, including pilots, operational systems, and effective partnerships.
- Prioritize measurable impact and outcomes over mere compliance or reporting.
- Governance & Reporting
- Provide consistent reporting to European governance bodies, consolidating MS Project schedules and Azure DevOps progress.
- Identify and escalate risks, dependencies, and critical decisions proactively to ensure smooth execution.
Profile
- 8–10 years’ experience delivering large-scale, complex projects in multicultural environments with a proven track record of on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Proven hands-on experience in detailed project planning and scheduling using MS Project, directly managing tasks and timelines (rather than delegating to junior PMO staff).
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is an asset.
- Strong “doer” mindset: pragmatic, action-oriented and results-driven.
- Experienced in leading without direct authority, able to influence, align, and unite diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Skilled at managing uncertainty and adapting plans quickly to changing circumstances.
- Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Fluent in English and German.
- Ability to travel cross Europe when is necessary – Most of the time hybrid work (remote / onsite depending of the country agreement)
